Remembrance.

The Monte Cassino memorial unveiled on the 70^th anniversary of the battle to commemorate the contribution of Polish servicemen and women during the Second World War. Part funded by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Scouting Association, the memorial is located in St Briavels, Gloucestershire. The memorial features a commemorative stone, National Eagle, cross of Monte Cassino, emblems of the Polish Armed Forces and the Scouting ‘Fleur-de-lys’ carved by a local stone mason. Constructed in the local forest of Dean and St. Bees sandstones, chosen for their similarities to the colours of the Monte Cassino medal ribbon.
